Following her last novel "Dunkelblum" (Kiepenheuer & Witsch 2021), for which Eva Menasse won the Bruno Kreisky Prize for Political Book of the Year 2021, comes another multifaceted novel with witty reflections on estrangement and home. In "Alleinruhelage" (Kiepenheuer & Witsch 2026), she writes the interim assessment of a woman's life who suddenly finds herself alone with the weekend house after her marriage ends. She wants to reclaim this place of former family idyll and struggles through renovations and other setbacks with two fellow travelers, only to set out once more from her "stable rest state for solitude".
