As the core choir, a chamber formation from the University of Freiburg im Breisgau choir (rehearsal: Eduard Wagner) was secured for collaboration (as was the case last year). Program: Two great and timeless works of classical and romantic music are on the program: In the 1st part of the program, Antonin Dvorak's Cello Concerto will be heard, in the 2nd part then the unique Mozart Requiem. The soloists of the instrumental concert are the 1st prize winner of the ARD Music Competition 2024 and 2026 prize winner of the Grand Concours Reine Elisabeth in Brussels, Mariia Zaitseva, and Oleksandr Mykhailov, who regularly performs with our orchestra and is based in Bern. In Mozart's Requiem, other talented young musicians and prize winners will take turns having the opportunity for attractive performances. Small memorial ceremony: As a special note, at the beginning of the 2nd concert part and together with former flute students, a memorial will also be held for Peter-Lukas GRAF, the great Swiss flutist and pedagogue who passed away on 31.12.2025 at the age of almost 97, who performed many times together with Martin Studer and his ensembles, most recently in 2023 and (almost 96 years old) in 2024 as part of this sponsorship & memorial series.
