For five years, 6 scientists live in a hermetically sealed ecosystem – an artificial biosphere, built under a glass dome. They are testing new life forms for a future of humanity beyond planet Earth. It's about groundbreaking discoveries, prestige and nothing less than the survival of mankind. Everything seems to be going according to plan. The systems are stable, the readings perfect. But an unexpected change throws the harmony within the biosphere off balance. The entire vision is at risk, the ambitious project threatens to fail. Biosphere III – a science fiction piece about humanity, our relationship to nature and the question of how far science should go. Inspired by the controversial experiment "Biosphere 2" from the 90s.
