A fascist school class rebels against their system-critical teacher; as disciplinary punishment, the class and teacher are immediately sent to a military camp. There they prepare for war, and in the course of this, a student dies. What happened, and who is to blame? A cold-blooded murderer? The silent teacher? The fascist system? With "Youth Without God," we want to open a discussion about where moral cowardice ends and civic courage begins. In a time when conviction is often demanded but rarely lived, we're setting an urgent social impulse. Over the past six months, we have restaged and modernized the play at StuThe (Studierenden Theater Zürich) to build a bridge from the fiction of the past to the world we all live in, here and now.
