The Irish tradition, which recharges itself like a battery every few centuries, is celebrated. The festival is also a kaleidoscope of sounds that reflects the many facets of Irish folk. Whether heartfelt ballads, rousing jigs & reels or interpretations of old melodies – the four authentic ensembles guarantee a varied musical journey, as diverse as the green tones of Ireland. With traditional instruments, unique voices and fresh Irish sound, the artists create a wonderful Irish evening that leaves a lasting impression. The crowning festival highlight is the Festival Session with all ensembles on stage. Programme: Brian Leach | Master of the hammered dulcimer Brian Haitz & Brendan Mulholland | A duo of many sounds Astro Bloc | A dynamic new folk band The Outcast Crew | The godfathers of punky folk Festival Session | Last but not least With the Irish Folk Festival taking place annually, hundreds of thousands of visitors have come to know and appreciate Ireland and its culture over recent decades. The audience doesn't come to the Irish Folk Festival just to be swept away by Ireland's vibrant melodies. They also come because they meet like-minded people here.
