We discuss how we can provide all people in Switzerland access to regional, seasonal and high-quality food. Healthy and sustainable nutrition should not be a privilege. The right to food is indeed a human right, but one of the most widely violated human rights. How can we in Switzerland provide all people access to regional, seasonal and high-quality food? Is it utopia or a political task? The canton of Geneva, for example, is taking a first step by writing the right to food into the constitution and creating space for new initiatives. At the center of public debates are topics such as dignified and self-determined access to adequate nutrition, the promotion of agroecology, a sustainable and fair food supply, and healthy eating. At this event, we will discuss together with representatives from civil society, research, politics and practice existing initiatives and possible ways towards a more just food system. Three short inputs will introduce us to the topic of the evening: Right to food, Michaël Nanz, FIAN Switzerland Food for all, Amine Diare Conde Solidary Food Box Zurich, Laurène Descamps Followed by a panel discussion where the audience also has the opportunity to ask questions.
